Why American Muscle Cars Still Rule the Road: Timeless Power Meets Iconic Style

By Okechukwu Okugo | Founding Editor –

American muscle and iconic cars are the best. This stems from the fact that many foreign automakers have, on several occasions, tried to mimic their styles and features. Also, they are made using state-of-the-art facilities and technologies that are always at the forefront.

American automakers have been trailblazers in the latest automotive technologies, producing fast cars and employing safety measures to safeguard both the environment and riders’ lives.

In the latest J.D. Power dependability study, as reported in money.usnews.com, “GM’s Buick division tied with Jaguar for the top spot, beating out Lexus and Toyota. And in 8 of 11 car segments, a GM Model came in as one of the top three vehicles.”

And this dependable testimony about American cars is reinforced by another report on www.quora.com, “…The Tesla Model 3. It’s potentially the iPod of cars, a game-changer.”

Imagine such cars as the latest exotic Cadillacs, Chevrolets, GMCs, and Buicks, to mention but a few, with unique molding and styling that are superb and unbeatable. It would be of note to point out that all the mimicry of America’s muscle cars has fallen short by other automakers. And America remains the king of muscle cars. American jeeps stand the test of time.

Apart from the cars’ aesthetic appeal and performance, there are also economic reasons to buy them. American automakers offer “payment protection plans” at no extra cost that can cover car monthly payments for several months if one loses their job. And even if other foreign auto dealers offer such packages in the U.S., American traditional automakers offer them better. None can match the big cash rebates and zero-percent financing that U.S. automakers offer.

American cars excel in all categories, including sports, luxury, and electric cars. The size of American models represents their ruggedness, strength, and durability. And that is how they last. No doubt, American trucks are unbeatable worldwide, with demonstrable road performance records that make them the envy of many foreign auto manufacturers.

In addition to all these benefits, homemade cars are always best for the roads, because they are usually made with local or national specifications in mind. Some of America’s auto brands have lasted over a hundred years since 1914, a clear testament to their ability to stand the test of time.

And no matter how one may try to convince you to believe American cars are less reliable and expensive to maintain, the factual point is that they are reliable, and when you compare the overall utility of these great cars, you’d know that whatever you spend to maintain them is far less than all the comfort and peace of mind they offer you.

Do you need a real muscle car? High-performance coupes built around speed, raw power, and everyday drivability came to be known as American muscle cars, most often powered by V8 engines. Their prominence peaked between 1964 and 1973, highlighted by icons such as the Pontiac GTO, Ford Mustang, and Chevrolet Chevelle, many of which were equipped with large-displacement big-block engines.

In the modern era, that tradition has been carried forward by models such as the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, Ford Mustang Dark Horse, and Chevrolet Camaro, which continue to emphasize power and performance. This is where America rules in the automobile.
